The Finca Río Grande in Andalucía (southern Spain) offers both relaxation and activity holidays in a part of the world which enjoys more than 300 days of sunshine a year. Our finca lies on the banks of the Río Grande, just outside the town of Coín, which is 30 kilometres to the west of Málaga airport. From the terrace you have wonderful views of our land, where horses and cattle graze : there are orange groves and eucalyptus trees, all set against the backdrop of beautiful mountains, the Sierra de las Nieves and the Sierra Prieta.
The finca comprises 3 hectares of land with stabling and an all-weather exercise area for horses. The holiday accommodation is the Cortijo Marilla, a recently refurbished farmhouse which sleeps 7 people + baby in 3 double bedrooms (2 with double beds and 1 with 2 singlebeds) and one single bedroom. It has its own terrace and access to the pool area which has an outdoor kitchen, a BBQ area seating 10 people, a fireplace and a massage room. Our fully-qualified and registered Swedish massage therapist offers a wide range of treatments.
The Cortijo Marilla is a genuine, 150 years old Spanish farmhouse with thick, whitewashed stone walls, stone floors throughout and ceilings with original beams. The traditional windows all have wooden shutters and there is a terrace with vines to provide shade.
There are two floors (130 square metres in total): the ground floor has a hallway, a large fully-equipped kitchen with new refrigerator, freezer, oven, stove with induction plate (all new), microwave, waterboiler, coffemaker etc. The downstair floor consist of 2 large double bedrooms, a large bathroom with bath and shower, a dining room and a cosy living room with an open fireplace and built-in sofas. The upper floor has a large double bedroom with 2 single beds and a single bedroom. All the bedrooms throughout the house have fitted wardrobes and ample storage space. We also have a baby bed with wheels and baby bedding.
The whole house has been redecorated throughout in readiness for this season and has been equipped with new beds and curtains. It has a TV with DVD player (DVDs provided), Playstation 2 with various games and there is free wireless internet access.
It is possible to rent either the whole of the Cortijo Marilla or individual rooms, either with or without breakfast which can be provided for €4,50 per person per day.
On our doorstep there are many walking, cycling and horse-riding trails with a wide range of cultural activities available in the surrounding towns. We can organise a complete holiday package for you, possibly including a round of golf at one of the many golf courses in the area. After a strenuous day´s activity, what could be better than to return to the tranquil Finca Río Grande where you can have a swim in our beautiful pool, a cold drink and a Swedish massage to make your holiday feeling complete?
